Technology and work

Most of us don’t like to work. Most of us are working in wrong fields. It is difficult to force fit self when you don’t like the work. In transactions, life is more miserable. Routine jobs slowly kills our creativity. They are necessary evils. We can’t ignore transaction from strategy.

Though companies are trying hard to soften the burden by trying employee friendly policies. We have come long way from hard working , ruthless worker culture to today’s somewhat employee friendly office culture. Machines have played an important role.

These are hard truth. Computer came to reduce paper work. Internet came to reduce time. SAP came to provide faster MIS to management. More we go into machine, more we found lost. New versions, upgrades, new technology, and new applications are changing our way of working.

Artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain or big data are new management jargons. Hope they will tackle real problems we have like income inequalities, widespread poverty, cancer and heart disease, and space explorations. I am very unsure about these technologies and their impact. Lots of marketing around these key words.

All companies are trying hard to get information to last human. All human will have information access soon through 24 hours internet access. Will it help in big problems I stated or will it create new problems? Unhappiness and depression have been increasing. Management is thirstier for smothers data and process flow. Getting faster information is mirage. In such noises, more information is a disease. We need meaningful information.

Our time which is meant for peace, happiness and meditation is being filled with content like fat. Over noisy politicians or private branded games or social media filled with angry people.

Work from anywhere will be new reality. That will be good and will save time in coming office and sitting in long meetings. Technology should make it possible. It should help to make us productive.
