Continuous learning is necessary for all developments. New innovations are happening in field of learning like e learning or mobile learning. Organizations are looking to develop skills at each level. Some basic parameters to be judge before deploying and during execution of learning initiative
1. Combination of tools: Library, eLearning, simulations, classroom, or on Job training must be mixed at optimal level for both organization and employee needs. Soft skills require practice and lots of interactions. Team activities will be best in developing it.
2. Train the Trainer program: Organization should focus on development of in-house trainers. Trainer is back bone of entire initiative. His efficiency and skills may make and break any program. He should engage employees in subject and create interest even in dull subject.
3. Training Score: Most training programs pass or fail participants. Criteria of effectiveness of training must be judge fairly. Same amount of participant can’t be given same level of proficiency in same hours of learning. Some rational criteria are needed to judge the gap.
4. Linkage to KPI / KRA in Organization: Without it all trainings are going to fail. Trained resources need appreciation and fast track movement. They much needed due must be given at appraisal time.
5. Promotions : Training promotions through top management and process owner helps in getting objective easier. Developed and learned employee can give better delivery and will be better prepared in such fast moving business environmental changes.
6. Skill Inventory and Reskilling Employees: It is continuous excecise. Employees should go through minimum number of hours of training in an year. It should take care of growing skill inventory level among employees.
